wstera, Respectfully, the $75 to $100 billion that Bush spent on Iraq would have bailed ALL 50 states out. In the end it is all the same fiscally -- because the sate & fed are immeasurably tied at the hip. So if you "bail" out a state -- you are essentially bailing out yourself directly/indirectly. Fixing Massachusetts or Pennsylvania -- is no different then fixing your right hand or left arm economically. One cannot operate without them and vice versa. They are all part of the same blood-flowing body. USA "body" is made up of 50 functioning parts called States. To ignore a state's need is to cut off your nose to spite your face. The IRS collects as much as 5 times more income tax revenue from a state's employee -- then the very state itself. So it only makes sense to support/encourage that source of income. -JH
