I don't think so. I think Voinovich should support the President on tax cuts and then work with him to reduce spending and the size and scope of the Federal Government. THAT would be true conservatism--MK--

Democrats airlift lawyers ...

*Reasons that the Democrats had to airlift scores of lawyers to Florida to try to win the election in post-season play, creating immense confusion and maybe even a constitutional crisis

* The Democrats were so busy being blindly loyal to Clinton that they never noticed that they were losing more governorships and Senate, House, and state legislative seats than under any Democratic president since Grover Cleveland.

* The Democrats were so busy being blindly loyal to Clinton that they never noticed that convicting Clinton after impeachment would have redeemed them and left them far better positioned for the 2000 election -- especially with an incumbent Gore in the White House.

* The Democrats were so busy being blindly loyal to Clinton that they never noticed that the voters would have the last say on the impeachment issue. Gore was the surrogate defendant in the second impeachment trial. 60% of the voters in exit polls had an unfavorable personal opinion of Clinton and 68% thought he would be remembered for his scandals rather than for his leadership.

* The Democrats, led by their liberal wing, disparaged large segments of the country depicting them either implicitly or explicitly as racist, stupid, and not worth listening to.

* The Democrats played a politics of division on issues such as abortion, ethnicity and guns. If you're going to divide the country, make sure that more than half of it is on your side.

* The Democrats nominated Al Gore as their candidate.

* The Democrats didn't have anybody else to nominate.

* The Democrats didn't have any good ideas.

* When their president or their candidate got into trouble, the Democrats sent arrogant, annoying, and patronizing talking heads into the TV studios to defend them. As a result, more and more viewers got the idea that Democrats were arrogant, annoying and patronizing.

* The Democrats fully supported the barbaric war on drugs which, among other things, created a whole new class of ex-felons that could no longer vote Democratic.

* For eight years, Democrats dismissed, ridiculed and ignored their own progressive wing and, in effect, told them to get lost.
