Wondered that myself. Think it might have to do with the fact (I believe) the number of shares reported is an average during the period. Thus if they swapped a lot of shares for debt near end of previous period then that could influence the number.

Bottom line a good question would be how many shares outstanding on 3/31/03 (better yet 4/25/03).
