>This time around, Turkey demanded that they be paid in advance for cooperating with the Bushies. One of the untold stories about why the 4th Mech never landed on Turkey's Mediterranean shore is that the Bushies had their bluff called. No money was forthcoming, only empty promises. No wonder the world regards the U.S. as a shameful and misguided Goliath.<

Bushies also reneged on Mexico. Other than Blair, Australia and the other small-ex-communist-countries who are sucking up to Bushies, there is no other country that trusts the Bush Administration.

Which brings up a wider technique used to control both the American public and foriegn nations. All are kept in debt, always, a permanant debt. A country or person who does not owe may show streaks of independance. A wage slave or IMF junkie will always be subject to tightening of the purse.
