"There's another genre unique to the French-Canadians who settled near New Orleans called Zydeco, which is also interesting."

Well, some, including he himself, call Wynton Marsalis a historian, and some call
Dixieland "New Orleans Jazz" or at least keep them apart.

To my knowledge W Marsalis has not tried to revive nor describe "Dixieland",
although he has already covered most from New Orleans music, Chicago style,
attempts at BeBop, and Cool but not really Free Jazz, nor heavy metal, punk nor rap
(but I have not followed him in detail)

That is, all the stuff which Miles Davis did himself.
