Many thanks, John. Puetz's work focused only on full moons following solar eclipses, not before, and also found that most crashes occurred around a lunar eclipse that followed a solar eclipse within six weeks, so there are a couple of misunderstandings there.

I went back to the mid-1980s and found that the lunar/solar eclipse combo was almost always good for significant volatility or a major turn, so it appeared to be worth paying attention to for turns/volatility (don't know where I posted that; maybe on CFZ-EW). It obviously doesn't predict crashes, which are rare events, of course, but it seems to be worth paying attention to for other reasons.
