I am not an epidemiologist (heck, I'll be surprised if the word passes the spell check -g), but it is my understanding that this virus is simply not contagious enough to be a candidate for an epidemic of significant economic impact. The profile thus far supports this.

I have not doubt whatsoever that we will see such a debilitating virus in the next 20 years, but in order for it to be a successful organism, it will have to be more contagious. Biology being what it is, it will continue to try, unconsciously of course, until it gets it right.
