For a lot of people, it would take them an hour and a half to complete. ' Took me twelve minutes just to read it the first time -g- .... then before responding, i've got to read it at least once more, seriously, prioritise some bit of it, since so many points are raised that an entire library of books could be written in reply, got to cut it way down to essentials, to make sure i can hit the submit button before i croak Four or five garbage emails a day? ... wow, i get more than that, i'm pretty sure [and i've never used usenet on this machine] ... never counted the days between downloading emails yet, and divided them into total spam received, but that's because i've given up on the medium, some time ago in fact ..... it was hugely overused, even friends and family to whom i'd give my email would send me stupid chain joke letters and stuff, things like baby pictures with three millions bytes [not kidding!] that would take about twenty minutes to download one fuzzy jpg of some kid who doesn't even talk yet ... who cares - show me a kid with a PHD in logging and i'll buy him a beer, still don't wanna see his picture plugging up my machine though, geez It's a matter of time .... some will have more patience than others ... some have higher capacity machinery as well, but i suspect that is less of a factor, what really counts is what proportion of daily hours does a person want to spend deleting dickheadery off his computer ... me, not very bloody many ... of course i've never had anything resembling a business that used the net as a promotional medium, it's strictly a stock research and chat tool to me, the moment it's not interesting it's boring, period, and spam is as boring as it gets This week comes the tenth anniversary of the Mosaic browser, i heard last night ... that's what opened up the world of computers to people like me, who know absolutely nothing of the technology involved, we just want something that we can point and click at, that doesn't screw us around ..... the issue of how do sites pay their bills, yes that will come up, and i'm open to paying for value ..... because like Red Green says, i am a man, but i can change, i guess
