I am afraid I do not watch Fox. If I watch TV I watch CSPAN, CSPAN2 or PBS. But I do believe in your assessment. It explains the inability of people who watch network news to see nuance in situations. A tragic state of affairs, imo. Education does not really mean anything, though, if it does not broaden the mind. Many people manage to go through college without actually becoming educated people. (And of course people who do not go to college could self educate, but few do.) Many people who go through college whine about the general ed requirements, and avoid the humanities whenever possible- those folks only cheat themselves, in getting a diploma and at the same time avoiding education. Actually that ties in rather neatly to the discussion we had about languages. I met very few people who really wanted to pursue a foreign language in college- and yet what a gift it is to have the opportunity and means available to do so!

Ron, I agree with many of your thoughts on the
Fox Saturday morning business block. They are trying
to appeal to their audience, but it is over the top, IMO.

I too enjoy Gary B., Pat, Jim Rogers, and Johnathan on
the last show with Terry K. Wish they would stick to
the investment stuff on their, and lay off the flag
waving though. We all see what they are trying to do...and
it's just too much after awhile.
