he has sure grown in office
Or expectations have shrunk.
No longer do we expect peace, balance budget, retirement, national parks, health care, or the ability to travel. It's all gone and people are so worried that they will lose the rest that they rejoice at every snear hoping that maybe, at last, the bottom is in.

"While Schick alleged intended consequences, two former members of President Bill Clinton's National Security Council staff warned of unintended consequences from Bush's policy of preempting attacks by crushing states that harbor terrorists. Ivo H. Daalder and James M. Lindsay, both senior fellows at the Brookings Institution, argued that administration arrogance has bred mistrust and resentment abroad, and could turn the United States into "a powerful pariah state that, in many instances, will prove unable to achieve its most important goals"

This is Bullshit, and a PERFECT example as why the Clinton Administration will go down in history as one of the worst in American History so far as the USA is concerned.
I support George Bush entirely in his thrust to go TO THE SOURCE for fighting terrorism. One or two more such thrusts and I believe GLOBAL terrorism will be cut off at the grass roots. Global terrorists cannot exist without the support of some unnamed foreign entity. Once the world realizes that to support such means the destruction of THEIR country, these entities will cease to support terrorism outside their own borders. That is an indication of a position of strength, not the weakness the USA presented under the Clinton administration. The world should be glad Pres. Bush isnt Roman. In their day if even a SINGLE Roman citizen was harmed by a nation the entire power of Rome was employed to conquer, raze, burn, pillage, and plow salt into the land of the offending nation. Thats why a Roman citizen could go safely anywhere in the known world. jdn
