Whats wrong with the current A10 Warthog? Designed in '78, and assigned mainly to the National Guard, it is the unwanted warrior of the Air Force. We have too few of them. We might be able to get by with avionic upgrades, but I understand it's ground suppression capibilities are non existent. Great, great, Airplane. Marine Air has ALWAYS provided CLOSE air support for the troops Damn straight they did, and do. You didn't get that kind of performance out of the Air Force until this war, and now only from the A-10s. They don't dare send the F-15s/16s in low. They can't take a pounding like the A-10.
