Bashar Assad has been isolated as a result of Iraq's defeat

Oh, but hope springs eternal, France (and Russia no doubt) are doing what they can to suck up to him.

I honestly think France is about on our side as China anymore, which means not much

But I also believe we run more risk of hurting ourselves with mis steps in foreign policy than anything France can do, they are just going to make a nuisance of themselves more than anything. It would almost be comical to see Chirac and Villepin dancing and wiggling, trying to show that France is "important" if it weren't for the harm they could cause to the US in the process.
