OT The research I did on Mithraism shows that perhaps 2/3 of what we call Christianity today came from Mithraism.

From what I've read about Mithraism, I see little similarity between it and Christianity. You may have been mislead on that subject. The central image of Mithraism was Mithra kneeling on a bull's back, holding its nose with one hand and with the other stabbing it to death. Below the bull a half dozen animals, which are all like the bull astrological symbols, are shown biting the bull or licking its blood. What in this image has anything to do with Christianity? Nothing I can see. There are no tauroboliums in Christianity, no secret initiation ceremonies, no seven grades which believers are initiated into. Mithraism had all of these things. There were some elements entering Christianity from Mithraism and other sources like the choice of December 25 for the celebration of Christ's birth, bishop's miters, calling priests father, and some parts of the papal costume. But I think these elements are of superficial importance.

Here's a site which debunks claims of parallels between Christianity and Mithraism.

Re. Jesus and teachings and miracles, I'll just say IMO the only miracle which is ultimately vital for Christianity is Jesus's resurrection - that is truly central. About Jesus's teachings, I would observe they've influenced western civilization for the better. Again IMO.
