For people who doubt the existence of God.

As a very young boy, I was first made aware of God’s existence in 1968 while on the Puget Sound in Washington State.

It was while I was on a small motionless boat near the center of the Sound, not far from Seattle. It was very early on a cloudless summer morning, with wisps of morning fog still tenuously clinging to the faraway Olympic mountains. The water was smooth as glass, and the salty musk of the oceans scent was tinged with the smell of pine.

With all the sights to see, I focused on an empty patch of water not more than fifty yards from the boat. After a time, an Orca surfaced, and began the slow rolling gait of travel near the surface. One by one, the entire pod followed and began the ponderous loping travel.

This sight was a fairly common one at the time. What is not common, but which I felt at that moment, is that I was CAUSED to focus on that small patch of empty water. I ascribe the cause to be the hand of God, showing me that many great and powerful things are not always readily apparent, but exist nonetheless. By communicating with me through a simple metaphor that a child could understand, God was alerting me to pay attention. Even though my conscience mind may not always pay attention, my sub-conscience usually does.
