...and we had such a good thing going <g> very well. By all means, everyone is welcome to pm me on the topic. I have found more historical evidence for Old Testament than the New Testament. NT is of course the one I have been most interested in. There seems to be almost nothing available from before 300 A.D. Which is not surprising given that Aurelian burnt them (or as much of it as he could find). So if you or someone else has references to the very early NT documents, then I'll be happy to read them.

Pro or con, I appreciate the contributions that everyone made, and thanks for indulging us as long as you did.

Here's a link to a website that goes into great detail on Gnosticism.....another slant on Christianity. The gospels of Thomas and Phillip were expunged from Christendom due to what was considered heretical material. Makes for an interesting read.....contains a lot of info. on the origins of the New Testament and the Gnostic Society. A group that seems to focus more on God as the being within oneself.....more of an Eastern philosophical approach to Christianity.
