How else will the free Iraqis pay for the freedom. Their only true asset is Oil. So yes, the oil ministry was not a target [of looting].

The only reason why the oil ministry in Iraq was not looted is because armed US army soldiers stood in a chain around it and defended it from looting.

Of course the Oil Ministry was spared, because one of the goals was the oil. Nothing new here. Even joe six pack will agree with that.

Likewise, if we were there to liberate, implement democracy, blah, blah, blah,…the cultural institutions would have been spared. The manpower, materials, and hardware were in place. This is inexcusable.

It is already becoming apparent that the museum thefts were well organized, and carried out by people with a good background in ancient art. It will be interesting to see what new facts surface in the months to come.
