I never said that you are making it up. In fact, I agree with the "widely reported" part. But like I said, a widely reported nonsense is still nonsense. This has nothing to do with accusing you of anything. Don't take it personally.

I have also read the "widely reported" stories for a long time. On my count, about 80% of it is just parroting of the few "trustworthy" officials. The remaining 20% is a mixture of honest differences in perspectives, half baked theories to please the higher ups/admin/etc, and outright lies.

If your claim is that Iraqi opposition was hosted in Iran and got help, then I agree. This was a wide based opposition (you can easily search and see this for yourself). I can also agree with you that some of the Iraqi opposition came to believe in the Iranian model. Clearly it is in Iran's interest for the opposition who is ideologically closest to Iran to come to power.

How am I doing so far? Are we in agreement?

Beyond this, the portrayal of the events is tainted. Ledeen, whom I guess some would consider one of the "trustworthy" experts, outright accused Sadr of assassinating Khoi on orders from Tehran. What a load of crock! Not only he did not provide any evidence for his belief, and not only this theory does not stand close logical scrutiny, nobody even bothered to question him on it.

Back to the issue. Iran did not play favorites with who got to return to Iraq. They did not prevent Khoi's people for example from staging a rally in Tehran for his death. What exactly do you think Iran should do with the Iraqi opposition who agrees with Iran? Should they put them in detention because they disagree with Bush's plan?

I find it very absurd that you are complaining about Iran meddling in the power vacuum via Iraqi citizens, while US is running the whole show and Wolfovitz has been training mock government in Pentagon. That seems to be a much greater meddling no?

I find your attitude that I am just making up any thing that I don't immediately prove to you with chapter and verse quite offensive.

You find anybody who doesn't toe the Israeli line quite offensive. Big whip. You're also a master of the straw man argument, but that's another story.
