It would be interesting for you to go to a collectible book store, and spend some time with the old Life Magazines, just to get a flavor of the times. Look at the changes in communication, just as a "for instance"... How would any conspiracy like that have happened? All the Government leaders, the entire Congress and Senate, and the heads of the AEC, etc would have had to know... And on top of that, one would have to think that Americans were all of a sudden peopled by people who hated America and Americans. Even stupid Joseph McCarthy couldn't prove that. And goodness knows, he tried.
