There are two "National" newspapers in Canada, both out of Toronto, but printed in various cities in Canada. Recently, "The National Post" came under fire for controlling its editorial content, after firing several prominent columnists who just didn't fit into the slant or espouse the correct party line its new owner wanted. The owner was a former liberal member of parliament, Izzy (Israel) Asper, now taken over by the son of.

There was much controversy at the time, but nothing has changed. The paper is now editorializing and columnizing (sp) with one voice. It's called freedom of the press. Or more precisely, freedom of the owner of the press.

By the way, this paper is quite strident in its support for the "war".
