Seems to be a noticeable trend...particularly the top 1/5 and the top 5%.

It didn't look clear to me what taxes that chart referred to. If it is all taxes, then for myself, I pay about 15-20% of my tax for my home & autos each year, which are not income of course. The year I bought the house I got whacked for several thousand in tax, too. Then there's the tax on spending, which is another 15-25% of my tax each year.

Re: Gates -- don't forget that a lot of people at the bottom have zero net worth. You can start with the 2 million going bankrupt this year who are massively negative and go from there.
