I tend to agree with much of your post Doug about where most of the "frequent posters have gone." As a trader I can offer only my own experience; yes, it is easier to swing and day trade in a bull market, but if you are comfortable on the short-side, a down or bear market offers exquisite day and swing opportunities. For those still not yet comfortable on the short side and in preparation for the next bear since this one may well be over...I suggest trading the QQQ's, short AND long. The QQQ market is Very Liquid, the spreads are Very tight. One needn't worry about upgrades/downgrades/warnings/corporate malfeasance and all the other noise that single stocks are heir to. QQQ trading is trading: almost at it's purest.
