RE: "alternatives"

1. The Pals continue their terrorism.

The US decides that the 2 state solution is not viable. The US gives tacit approval to the Israeli "transfer" policy. Under the guise of security, settlement expansion slowly accelerates, land annexation slowly accelerates, destruction of Pal infrastructure slowly accelerates.

The Pals respond with more violence and that violence is crushed more "brutally" (your word). Ultimately, the Pals population declines at accelerating rates leading to effective "transfer."

2. The Pals stop their terrorism.

The Israelis slowly remove troops and turn land back to Pal control. New Israeli settlements stop. Pal workers slowly return to their jobs in Israel. Israel slowly turns over Pal tax monies.

Time passes. Regime change occurs in most of the Middle Eastern countries. Israel and Pal plan two nations in historic Palestine. Jews are allowed to live in the West Bank historical and holy places as Israeli citizens and Pals are allowed to return to their ancestral homes in Israel as Pal citizens. Jerusalem is divided and is the capitol of both countries.
