1.) The guy's point is that they don't want to sell dollars and drive it down.

With all the people receiving dollars all around the world, are they somehow hooking up talking to each other and deciding at once not to sell dollars because they collectively need a high dollar? Don't you think the Forex market is bigger then any one participant? People act in their own interest, if they feel they will get a higher return somewhere do you really think that they somehow take into consideration what their individual action to make money will have an effect on someone else's currency? Do you worry about a lower dollar when you buy gold and then NOT do it? Someone worrying about a lower dollar doesn't buy dollar denominated assets, they sell them.
