I believe I wrote, and correctly so, that the military is not trained for the operation in which they find themselves. This is nation building pure and simple, and the military not only has avoided training in that area, they are downright contemptuous of the whole notion.

By their own estimations the U.S. troops fired for 20 to 30 minutes at every living thing that moved in their vicinity. That is more than a 'Kent State' reaction or even the 'Boston Massacre'. That is the war-centric battle hardended response that we expect from lean green killing machines. That is their training.

Nation building calls out for blue-helmeted U.N. troops who negotiate all day and fire back the way a policeman might. Whoever ordered this mission, and it was Rumsfeld, has ordered a mission doomed to failure by it's very makeup.
