One wonders from whom they propose to defend themselves.

If Europe does join together an decide to boost its military capacity, and the US continues its trend toward higher military spending, the collective military budget of the developed world will see a rapid jump. I have to wonder whether the resultant forces will be intended for defence, or to impose the will of the leaders of developed countries on those countries that cannot afford similar forces.

Is this really necessary?
