Really? That's interesting. Another example of American ingenuity buried in the name of corporate profits. Why not make a 20% ethanol/gas mixture rather than opening up ANWR for drilling?

How about the fact that Detroit can't come up with a new ignition system that is impossible to hotwire, thus severly decreasing the incidence of stolen vehicles and freeing up cops to persue other crimes? It's 2003. We put a man on the moon 34 years ago. Surely, the engineers in Detroit can design cars so they're virtually steal proof. Like a touchpad ignition system with embeded circuitry that doesn't contain wires that thieves can hotwire. I guess Detroit doesn't want to give up those 5% of car and parts sales that come directly from the stolen car industry. It would kill their sales. What a scam! ScAmerica!

So much can be done to make this country a better place if there weren't so many vested interests that want to see the status quo continue.

You forget about the amount of energy required to grow the corn, unless you plan on tilling the soil by hand and watering the soil by carrying buckets of water yourself.
