Tony is the weak link. He does look like he has spent the last two months between a rock and a hard place. It will be very interesting to see how the Brits react to his public humiliation in the hands of Putin, it could go either way. If I remember correctly he is going in for a grill session at House today or tomorrow.

[Couple side notes:
1. The European Defense Initiative was launched yesterday, with Germany, France, Belgium and Luxembourg as its founding members. (Personally I think that it is very sad that we had to come to this point). Blair does not like this new idea. Putin's comments coming on the same day are telling.

2. In one of his speeches Chirac alluded to new centers of power: US, Europe, China, India and Latin/South America. Interesting to note he left Russia out.
