The house of Saud is very unstable and was very fearful of Al Qaeda. But since the US and other countries in the ME and all over the world have worked effectively to dismantle and banish al qaeda, the house of saud is not so fearful anymore.

So they much less use for our troops now.

It's ironic that one of the key reasons al qaeda attacked the US was the US troops being in SA. And now that al qaeda is almost defunct, we pull out the troops. Wierd.
