French, Belgium, Germany and Luxemborg may go it alone, although i dont believe for a minute that the germans will continue this madness beyond Schroeders term. Take Germany out of the equation and you have the french Mirage. What worries me is what if the russians get involved with this group to offset our growing influence in the eastern europe. That would be a return to the old pattern of alliances. Putin grossly mistreated Blair yesterday on Blairs visit. Did you take it that way too?
Should i be reevaluating my view that much of what putin has done has been driven by domestic considerations and even yesterdays dress down of blair served that purpose. Mike
