tippet > how do you feel about your own government

Although I'm not an anarchist or a criminal I'm not a lover of any government. If I am "anything" I'm a libertarian, but that doesn't say much because there seem to be many varieties of that species.

I'm also not a socialist although I do see that pure capitalism is impossible in a place like SA where so many people have no skills.

My complaint about the present SA government is its self-righteousness. Because blacks regard themselves as victims of former oppression (and the SA government is largely black and many blacks were, in fact, oppressed), anything which the government here does is shrouded in an air of the holiness of Saints and the righteousness of "victims". Thus the gov is instituting many racist laws (which would be offensive anywhere else) with the intention of transferring opportunity, wealth and economic power from the white minority to the blacks. And, to put it bluntly, this pisses me off no end. In the US, "minorities", in fact, have special rights but in SA they have none. Not that I am looking for special rights or privileges, I just don't like being singled out for special "treatment" on the basis of my race.

> Who would believe that they did, in fact, do it

I think many people do, especially outside the US. Actually, all the plans were in place long before 911 (see Project for the New American Century PNAC) so the idea that the US gov was directly or indirectly involved is not at all preposterous.
