I think Ansar al-Islam operated there with Saddam's
knowledge & support. Sure it was in the No-Fly Zone. It
wasn't however, a no tank, APC, helicopter or armored
division Zone. They slaughtered Kurdish women & children,
much like Saddam did. They were well armed & well funded.
There is little doubt that the Kurds hated them & fought
them at every opportunity.

I've posted a number of articles here that supports this,
plus it links Ansar al-Islam to Al Qaeda & Saddam by the
Kurds, evidence gathered from the sites & from prisoners.

I realize that most folks here don't care about facts of
evidence contrary to their POV though. That's not my
problem.
