you might wish to take a look at Andrew Sullivan's take on the Santorum bit.

I read Sullivan Religiously. :>)

This article does a good job of arguing the "Social Mores" concept of restriction on deviant behavior, IMO. Some of these taboos that have come down to us are not without a meritorious base, IMO.

Santorum was echoing the verbage of a court case, and an issue that is beat to death in every college Ethics class in America. Boring!

In the meantime, John, you didn't think much of Mr. Banana Boat calling Powell a House Nigger. Very troubling indeed.
