One more shot at ethanol production and I'll leave it alone. I'd question the idea ethanol is impractical because it takes energy to produce, especially if the data is being provided by a right wing friend of oil. For a side by side comparison, for oil you start with multi million dollar seismic surveys, to pick the best spots to drill holes several miles deep with heavy equipment which takes energy to build, more heavy equipment is required to pump the oil to the surface, then you construct pipelines, or carry the oil in tankers or trucks to a refinery where more energy is used to refine the oil into gas, which is then trucked to the gas station. To top it off, that's with 100 years of experience in producing oil fuels for energy to evolve the most efficient methods possible. If oil were the new kid on the block, it would look ridiculous.

<<<Are you familiar with the concept of "energy density"?>>>

This is my favorite site for just about anything that might burn in an IC engine, without a care in the world for fuel economy. If you want energy density, nitro methane is the only way to fly.
