I would agree with you, except for one thing. Our oil. All 112 Billion barrels of it. If we could haul it off as booty, we'd leave. As a matter of fact, I believe that is the plan. But we won't be pulling out of Iraq (unless Bush is removed from office) any time soon.

Blair has certainly polarized relations with Europe, while stregthening his ties to GWB's apron strings. Why Blair has decided to enter the U.S. sphere in a newly polarizing world is beyond me. The U.S. has a near perfect track record of betrayal of chumps like Blair. My best guess is that the Carlyle Group has made Blair an offer he couldn't refuse. Rights of first refusal to take over John Major's territory for the Group.
