Blair has certainly polarized relations with Europe, while stregthening his ties to GWB's apron strings. Why Blair has decided to enter the U.S. sphere in a newly polarizing world is beyond me. The U.S. has a near perfect track record of betrayal of chumps like Blair. My best guess is that the Carlyle Group has made Blair an offer he couldn't refuse.
