Blix testimony and reports to the U.N. were presented as his factual findings, not as matters of opinion

His testimonies included both factual findings (ex: some empty warheads) AND opinions (ex: they don't seem to have fully accepted cooperation).

As for the rest, I find your reliance on UN resolutions for support to US position comical - let me remind you that the UN refused (repeat: REFUSED) to side with the US in its invasion of Iraq.

It is a cardinal rule of diplomacy and negotiation to NEVER seem to attempt to get diplomatic
and actual support for something one has decided to do no matter what.

However, USA still has a slim chance to correct some of that, by getting out of IRaq in an
orderly way while being replaced by UN forces, no military bases, etc.

However, much was already lost by not allowing the UN inspectors to continue their
work.

In any case the Bush regime, Wolfovits, Perl, Rumsfeld, etc has already carved a
position for themselves in modern history.

Blair is somewhat more lucky as he was careful to prepare for how to blame
Bush by claiming he just tried (and tries) to avoid even worse things. On
the other hand UK has ratified the ICC.
