As I said in an earlier post, Bill, if you wish to have serious discussion of the ME here, I am going to try to keep Foreign Affairs here confined to how it affects the election. The column you are responding to did that, I thought. The Post reporters think Bush has the best of both worlds domestically on Israel. If he does not pressure Sharon, his base will be happy. And the Dems will get in trouble with their base if they criticize him for not getting tough on Sharon. The Israelis know this, of course.
