So called "intellectual dishonesty" as well as the variation "intellectual honesty" do have fairly well defined meanings in USA. It includes producing a few hand-picked issues, out of context, and skipping even more, knowing that every listner, reader, and especially the person him/herself, knows that this was the tactic used. Last time I checked, USA and UK were still arranging "world championships" in these tactics, which is understandable as they are so fundamental in 2-party systems.
