It's true that visa applications to the US are already down considerably since 9/11. Ultimately it hurts more than it helps because most foreign visitors are tourists, students and businessmen who spend or invest money in the US and help to offset our trade deficit. Eventually the US will develop an understanding that life goes on despite terrorism. Many European countries learned that long ago. Anyone who really wants to get into the US and commit terrorist acts will find a way, if they are determined enough. We can't stop illegal immigrants or illegal drugs. Bad guys bringing weapons aren't much different.
