Actually, I never said anything about America. I did talk about the government.

Actually you did neither... here are quotes...The first is the statement that started this conversation.

"You pointing out that radiation is a major hazard (which I agree with) does not change the fact that in the 50s it was downplayed to the public."

Perhaps this will help a bit on our discussion. I am not trying to beat a dead horse, but given this, is it too much of a stretch to think in the 50s the public was not adequately instructed?

Is that what this is all about? You meant to be talking about the American Government while I was talking about America.
Aw Shucks! what a dreadful misunderstanding.

America...??? American Government...??? Give me a some more time I'll figure it out.

And it turns out that the post I linked sites a government study. So you are on weak footing there.

Careful you are slipping and sliding again...Whose government are you talking about?

The org, mentioned in your link, that you think did a government study is named "The Institute for Energy and Environmental Research". They have a website...http://www.ieer.org/.

Go ahead, check them out...Then we can both chuckle.

If you want to argue that America or the American Government did not put out enough nuclear info in the 90s...I will agree with you. But in the 50s, everyone in America was provided with reams of info. The only nation-wide exercise was conducted in the early 50s. Folks were building fallout shelters in the 50s. Unlike today, everybody alive in America in the 50s studied the nuclear problem and had a survival plan.
