<The worst thing that could ever happen for Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Aqsa brigades, etc, is for any real peace initiatives to take hold>

That's true. They have support, because so many Palestinians believe Israel never intends on allowing a Palestinian State within any borders. Yes, Sharon has said he is ready to give back some of the settlements, for peace. But who believes him, when he continually announces new settlements, and more money to expand existing settlements?

If Arafat had accepted the final offer at Taba, how much support would Hamas have today? None. For that matter, what are the chances that Sharon would have won the next election, if Taba had succeeded, as it very nearly did? The Israelis believe Arafat is insincere, and the Palestinians believe Sharon is insincere.

<who is profiting from the problems remaining unsolved>

All those who believe there should be only one nation, from the Jordan to the sea. Whether Israelis or Palestinians.
