Hope this applies to CNP too. ***** MIR- sounds like VERY Conservative accounting from their auditors. I bet they can find some way to capture part of that tax asset, or roll it into the future. Could sell a highly appreciated real estate asset, have the tax loss cover the profit, then by an equivalent asset, which can then be depreciated, taking the tax loss into the future... ******* VIX bottoming - I would expect Nasdaq to be heading down. Too much tech still over priced. Big trend now towards cyclicals, industrials, utes, energy, some financial stocks. I think there is much more options activity in Nasdaq and tech than almost anywhere else.
