Re the Docs and Medicare/Medicade.

I like your idea on access to the Federal programs. If nothing else, the disclosure of the real cost of these programs would take peoples breath away.

Now, if we could just get the House and Senate to stop fooling around, pontificating, and whatever else they do...

I call my plan the "US Taxpayers Company" plan. After all, the US Taxpayers pay for most of the medical and dental plans for most of the Government workers. Therefore we Taxpayers are "the Company", and SHOULD be able to qualify for participation in the plans. AT the same price that the folks in the Senate and House qualify for.....

We could pay our own premiums. There should be no excuse for anyone not to have medical insurance. Some people think it is more important to have cell phones and several TV's rather than medical insurance. I think medical insurance should be mandatory....just like it is to be mandatory to have a drivers license.

When I checked several years ago, the Senators had a choice of 15 (fifteen!!) different plans...some with totally paid premiums, and some partially paid with a good deal of coverage.

I also think the House and Senate MUST grasp and do something about the high cost of malpractice premiums as well as put caps on the limits of law suit awards. IMO, this is the MAJOR reason for such high medical costs.

The trial lawyers have made their careers of pressing suits against the Docs and Medical facilities... Perhaps if the House and Senate did something really responsible and radical, and limited the trial lawyers to a 5% fee, things might change. After all, the House and Senate have limited the amount the Docs can charge for procedures. And then they have limited the amount Medicare and Medicade will pay of those already reduced bills. They should be able to do that for the trial lawyers as well.

After all, the trial lawyers and unions are the largest sponsors for the Democrat party. Surely, they can be honest about the costs. For a change. <tongue in cheek pretty firmly on that last.....being honest about costs will be the day!!>

And re our medical insurance...small business 4 employees covered....we pay $1150 per MONTH for the two of us!! That's $13,800 for the 2 of us for yearly premiums alone!!!!! We pay a copay as well for Doctor visits.

The plan includes a drug copay of $15/for each Rx....(The Doc tries to write an Rx for 3 months...but no way says the Ins co....they want it for only 30 days, so they can have the copay of $15 EACH month....even if it is quite a bit cheaper to get the Rx for 90 days...both for the drug store, and for the purchaser.
