Steven, I think our laws should be maintained. We should allow NO one into this country without proper documentation. Period. We have immigration laws for a reason. They should be enforced unless the law is changed.

I heard on the radio that CA was considering having medical cards and food cards for the illegal aliens who come to this country. Doesn't the word "illegal" mean anything to anyone??? What are they thinking?

As far as Cuba and "why they are leaving, if it isn't communism they are fleeing"....Why wouldn't they leave then and go someplace besides the US.... Maybe the folks would want to go to other countries like Mexico, South America, etc...

I think the point was that just as many people are trying to flee from non-communist countries in that region as from Communist one, which suggests that the desire of the people to go elsewhere cannot be used to suggest that Communism is a bad thing. There are plenty of other reasons why it's a bad thing, but in Cuba's case, the fact that people want to leave doesn't make much of an argument. You notice that Haiti is much closer to Cuba than the US is, but not too many Cubans flee there.

Steven,
You got my drift exactly. In every way.

Obviously the other guy didn't get it at all. But nevermind.
