A guest on CNBC this morning explained that it really isn't all that bad since we had higher unemployment during the last jobless recovery (he assumes that is what we are in). The jobless part seems evident, the recovery part is less obvious. I'm sure his cheeful little anecdote will warm the cockles of the hearts of all of those who have even stopped trying to find a job at this point...

I would have expected jobless rate to fall big
since more people have given up looking for work
than people have lost their jobs
