Whatever the "road map" or deal is, I think the Israel map will continue to expand in the coming years. We saw many similar "road maps" or "deals" have been proposed in the last 50 years.

>>The letter, initiated by congressmen Tom Lantos, Roy
Blunt, Stenny Hoyner and Henry Hyde, drew 313
signatures from other members of the House, an
impressive number by all accounts.<<

>>...At the same time, a similar letter signed by 88 of 100
senators was sent to Bush.<<

>>Although the letters have no formal status or
legislative meaning, the fact that so many
congressmen, from both parties, signed them should
make it clear to the administration that Capitol Hill
firmly supports Israel and demands that the
Palestinians fight terror.<<

This is only one of the many and usual examples of how Israel can work from inside and control the US' Middle East policy making. The real power in a US president's hand is very limited.

There's little doubt that the US officials and the US Middle East policy and the related foreign policies(how to deal with the countries who were against the Iraq war, for example) will continue to move the way Israel want in the coming years.
