Again, you love to debate by speaking asides in a way you feel has some relevance. There is plenty of land in the middle east. The average Palestinian is no different from the average Israeli and wants his own village in peace. He really could care less whether it is 5 miles from Jerusalem or 100 miles therefrom. It's the politics and the cynical use of Palestinians by the governments that has kept this thing going. As for your last line - There are many reasons for settlement, not the least of which is to create a better defense for Israel. As I posted before, I'm not a supporter of the settlement policy and believe that a real peace will bring change. Now how about a focus on the real problems for peace and that is the terror, the suicide bombings and the hatred. It's easy to sit in an ivory tower in a principality, surrounded by luxury and lecture someone to return land. How about some real solutions? These are not debating points but real lives that face danger every day and that's on both sides. To say simply, "Palestinians want their land back," is really a waste of time. We all want things. Is it realistic? Everyone can't have everything they want. I suggest that the map of the mideast has plenty of room for all Jews and all Arabs who wish to live there. It just will take an ability to see that picture and eliminate the hatred and this will be accomplished. One of the benefits of the strong victory of the US is that terrorists and terrorist lovers will have less power. We see Syria coming around already without any invasion.
