Yes. But most CBs out there don't report their gold holdings in detail. UK simply does not have as much gold as was dishoarded. >7,000 tonnes is pretty close to US 8,XXX tonnes reported CB holding. Notice that when it stopped, gold started to rise. Why did it stop in 2002? Was it because they ran out of gold? I don't know. The only CB reporting gold holdings according to GAAP is the Swiss National Bank. They only have 15% loaned out.
