Then I guess Americans are anti-war. After all the vast majority of those "dancing in the streets" (protesting) were anti-war?

Cary you have a good grasp on the realities of the situation, at least from the Israeli wants/needs side of the equation. And I'm sure that you have legitimate strong emotions on the subject. But I am afraid that you are letting the latter cloud the former.

Israeli "extremists" are the ones who settle the remaining sliver of land that the Palestinians have left, and kill the Palestinians who resist. "Israelis in general" are the ones who finance these settlers with lavish government subsidies and a massive amount of military firepower.
