Oh no, Byrd's statement was more egregious. Byrd's overall record coupled with his outrageous public statement pales in comparison to Lott's birthday party compliment & Lott's overall record. Lott paid a dear price. Byrd's horrific comments were hardly challenged & consistently defended by the left. And I didn't taunt. You asked for context. I gave it. You rejected it as a right wing hit list, which had no basis in fact. I challenged your baseless obfuscation, no more, no less. IMO, it is rare for democrats to take to task any misdeeds perpetrated by their colleagues, but instead, they consistently defend them. They do however, consistently hype, overstate, take out of context, then extract a pound of flesh any perceived misdeed by a republican, regardless of the facts.
