Of course he did...deep inside, every general knows the natural unit for command is Uno! What is special about Sun Tzu was that he did not limit himself in the tools at his disposal. Nor was he after the destruction of his opponents. As far as he was concerned, you capture something so you can use it so there is not point in destroying it. To do this, he came to the conclusion (among others) that one cannot do so without fully appreciating his adversary and understanding his needs, and dare I say meeting some of those needs.
